ATORT Presents Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap

We are rounding the corner into October and ATORT (A Troupe Of Ridiculous Thespians) is kicking off our 2017-2018 season with the world’s longest running play, “The Mousetrap,” by Agatha Christie. This murder-mystery will have you guessing “Who done it?” from the beginning right through to the end! Opening in London in 1952, the original run is still playing today - 65 years and counting! What a great play for the Halloween season!

What is "The Mousetrap" about?

A group of strangers are stranded in a English boarding house during a snow storm in the winter of 1952, one of whom is a murderer. The suspects include the newly married couple, Mollie and Giles Ralston, who run the house (Audrey Worden and Zeke Collins), and the suspicions in their minds nearly wreck their perfect marriage. Others are the spinster Miss Casewell with a curious background (Kaitlyn Hicks), Christopher Wren, an architect who seems better equipped to be a chef (Connor McLean), a retired Army major (Major Metcalf – Noah Detwiler), a strange little man named Paravicini who claims his car has overturned in a drift (Zayne Hirsch), and a judge, Mrs. Boyle, who makes life miserable for everyone (Malia Duarte). Into their midst comes a policeman, Sergeant Trotter (Preston Chalmers), traveling on skis. He no sooner arrives, when one of them is killed. Two down, and one to go. To get to the rationale of the murderer's pattern, the policeman probes the background of everyone present, and rattles a lot of skeletons. Another famous Agatha Christie switch finish! Chalk up another superb intrigue for the foremost mystery writer of her time.
