Hope Center - Community and Family Outreach

ROOM #211

Empowering Students & their Families           through Community Connections!

EVERYONE needs help sometimes!
The MUHS Hope Center is dedicated to creating a positive environment where students feel supported to achieve their goals in the classroom and beyond. We are here to give students the tools they need to be successful, which can be as simple as a toothbrush or a notebook, all the way up to assisting the entire family with referrals to community organizations who can be a resource for their larger needs.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

MANZANITA OUTREACH                              (http://MOHelp.org)

Manzanita Outreach is the largest food assistance provider in the county. With the rising costs of food, our neighbors increasingly rely on them for their basic needs. M.O. hosts Food Sharing events in underserved communities and neighborhoods as well as providing home delivery programs for those without transportation. Their goal is to share food with kindness and dignity

MOhelp.org is a collaboration of Manzanita Outreach, Yavapai County Community Health Services, and the Yavapai County Library District. MOHelp.org is an accessible online database of basic needs providers for anyone to discover where and when resources are available throughout Yavapai County.

OLD TOWN MISSION              (http://oldtownmission.org)

Thanks to the generosity of the community, Old Town Mission offers a variety of services free of charge. These services include a food pantry, community meals, resources for the homeless (clothing, showers and employment opportunities), a hair salon, a Kid's Shop, Clothing Closet, and family-friendly activities. They are dedicated to assisting those in our community struggling to make ends meet.

To address specific needs, Old Town Mission also hosts annual events like: Operation Back to School, the Great Turkey Giveaway, Christmas Celebrations, the Gift of Warmth, and the Clothing Connection.

LOW INCOME STUDENT AID - L.I.S.A.    (http://azlisa.org)

The mission of LISA is to enrich the educational experience of low-income, public-school students in the Verde Valley by providing aid directly to students, and indirectly to schools. LISA works to bridge the gap between traditionally available forms of aid and a variety of student needs which impact educational success, holistic student health, inclusion, and self-esteem.

LISA provides crucial support to many Verde Valley students. Our assistance helps ensure students have the resources needed to succeed academically, emotionally and physically. LISA assists in covering costs for essential items such as clothing, bedding, hygiene items, school supplies and extracurricular activities including field trips, camps and sports.
