Principal's Message

Welcome to the 2025-26 School Year at Mingus Union High School!
With students back on campus 7/31 (7/30 for 9th grade) we are looking forward to another year of growth, achievement, and success at MUHS. At Mingus, we want to create a pathway for success for each and every one of our students both in high school and beyond.
Education is a powerful tool that opens doors to new opportunities, cultivates critical thinking, and inspires a lifelong love of learning. At Mingus Union, we are committed to providing a high-quality education that empowers our students to reach their full potential. Our dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to create a nurturing and challenging environment where students can thrive. We are grateful for their unwavering commitment to our students' success
Preparing students for life beyond high school is a primary goal at Mingus Union. Whether your child plans to attend college or enter the workforce, we offer comprehensive college and career readiness programs designed to equip them with the skills and knowledge needed to achieve their dreams.
Our Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs offer students hands-on experience and practical skills in various fields. These programs not only prepare students for immediate employment but also provide a strong foundation for further education and career advancemen
Dual Enrollment (DE), Advanced Placement (AP), honors courses, and our Yavapai Early College program are also an integral part of our academic offerings. Our Dual Enrollment and Yavapai Early College partnerships with Yavapai College allow our students to experience college-level coursework and many of our students have already earned credits boosting them in their college journey when they graduate. AP and honors courses challenge our students and prepare them for the rigor of college academics. They provide an excellent opportunity for students to enhance their college applications, and develop the skills necessary for success in higher education.
In addition to our course offerings, our school offers dozens of clubs that cater to a wide range of interests. From academic clubs to special interest groups, there is something for everyone. Participation in these activities helps students develop leadership skills, build lasting friendships, and explore new interests.
Our accomplished theater, fine arts, music, CTE,, and athletic programs provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents and pursue their passions. These programs are a source of pride for our school and community.
Staying connected and informed is crucial for success. We encourage all parents and students to utilize the PowerSchool app to access grades & attendance records. Additionally, our school website, www.mingusunion.com, is a valuable resource for finding the bell schedule, school calendar, and student handbook. Regularly checking these resources will help ensure that you are up-to-date with all school-related information and events. Our school also has a SITE Council, meeting every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5pm. This is another great opportunity for parents to stay involved in our school.
We look forward to a fantastic school year filled with achievements, growth, and memorable experiences. Together, let's make 2025-2026 a year to remember at Mingus Union High School. Thank you for being part of our school community, and we can't wait to see what we will accomplish together.
Sincerely,
David D. Beery
Principal
